Tempo Plastic Co., Inc., provides stock and custom protective packaging, particulate free, semi-flexible, long life protection for archival storage, in-house handling, or shipping.   We also provide cleanroom - compatible, durable parts molded from copolymer foams, test reports for liquid particle counts and organic analysis are posted.  We feature thin walls, smooth surfaces, high foam densities, which can be replacements for injection molded parts.  We specialize in intricate shapes and offer static dissipative certification, responsiveness and low cost molds.

Investment Castings

Foam pattern stability for larger sizes is big advantage of the foam casting process.  A 63g/l density foam pattern is still about half the weight of a wax pattern which can sag when it gets larger like closed vein impeller.  Also using CASTINGSDEV
® (see link ) idea of combining reduced ceramic shell with fluidized bed of sand for shell support allows reduced ceramic process steps.  You have to have a two stage burn-out oven so the foam pattern shrivels before entering high temperature zone of oven where it might expand and crack the shell.  Ovens can be made with overhead tracks or carts or just for simple manual movement.  Autoclave step in wax process is for wax removal, this step is eliminated with foam pattern oven burnout.

Foam patterns can be molded complete on the ingate system saving assembly labor.

Since 1960, Tempo uses steam jacketed, self contained, Class “A” molds for rapid turn-around delivery of complex, intricate geometry molded parts.  Moldmaking costs are generally less than wax tooling costs.
